Say Yes

I remembered you today.

Maybe we danced once,

or maybe I played next to you at a gig.

Or, maybe I taught with you

at a school                   somewhere.

Perhaps I taught you,

or you even taught me –

when I was a student.

I remember the kind

people with whom I have done things

throughout my entire life,

and I am glad that I can keep in touch

with all of you.

Every moment in your life

has a chance of being

a special one,

a sacred one,

one that you will always remember.

When someone asks you to dance,

to play a show with you,

to study with you,

or to work with you…

say Yes.
