2023 AMPATH Kenya Research Program Annual Report published
- The AMPATH Kenya Research Program Office (RPO) is delighted to share the latest AMPATH Kenya Annual Research Report linked here.
- From January to December 2023, AMPATH investigators received US $19.6 million in funding for new and continuing research projects, which increases the cumulative funding total to approximately US $247 million.
- Consistent with previous years, funding from the National Institutes of Health remained strong and accounted for 81 percent of the funding last year. Additionally, AMPATH investigators published 115 articles across many disciplines and areas.

D43 HIV Implementation Science and Dissemination Grant updates
- The project MPIs, along with leadership from Moi’s School of Public Health, have finalized selecting mentors for the trainee mentor panels. Trainees will meet with their assigned mentor panel in the coming month to discuss their proposed research plans.
- Both short courses taught this semester – HIV Across the Lifecourse and Grant Writing – will wrap up in mid-June.
- Preparations are underway by the D43 MPI and admin teams to start recruitment for the second cohort of trainees soon.
- The first cohort of trainees will be selecting research rotations ahead of their second year starting in September.
