28 Calm After A Storm
The sky rumbles, breaks open, quenches her flora and fauna,
The trees tremble, the great cats yawn, and the earth drinks.
She is pleased. She continues to care for her creation until dawn breaks.
Mother to us all, without whose care we cannot thrive; our home.
Transparent hues of color curve around,
And hold at bay forces we cannot comprehend.
Light pushes out the necessary darkness,
And while we are held secure, calm amid swirling forces,
We are tempted to forget the contrast of her tones and moods,
Which will remain a mystery until the end: torrents, eruptions, chasms.
Beauty persists and regains its rightful place,
For the hope of graceful form is our inheritance.
We are baptized and renewed, refreshed, and
Illuminated by the tidings of a great in-gathering of
Humanity, encircled by both nurture and nature,
living to see and know the end as another beginning.
