Are we more than synapses– nerves and tendons?
My spirit languishes because unfed
like a garden untended
For is it not true that the spirit must be grown?
It does not come developed;
Rather, it must be nurtured with care.
At the end of life’s tumult, only one question remains:
Was the soil made to yield or was it simply given to the weeds?
Hold. We are not like flowers, you say, but far more complex.
In response, I say: You will see that your needs are just as basic, given time.
In darkness you’ll wilt, without water and light you’ll starve—
