Bright Days Ahead

Keeping in touch with our community

In 2020, we created the I-Light Network Advisory Council (NAC) as a way for our members to give feedback and help identify how the I-Light Network can best serve their needs. In 2021, the NAC continued its quarterly meetings, and we also rolled out a few new ways to stay in touch.

For the coming year, we will continue our NAC meetings as well as monthly town hall Zoom meetings, which began as a way to keep in touch during the pandemic. The town halls are so successful, that we’ve decided to keep hosting them into the foreseeable future. We also plan to more robustly use the messaging app Slack for our community as well.

Collaborating with Independent Colleges of Indiana

Many of I-Light’s member institutions are also part of Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI), a nonprofit representing the state’s 30 private, non-profit, regionally accredited colleges and universities. In the coming year, I-Light will work to partner with ICI on a range of projects, in the hopes of fostering opportunities for their researchers to work with the National Science Foundation.
