Our Future’s So Bright
2021 was a year of shimmering new beginnings for our nation, our university, and our networks.
As vaccinations against COVID-19 started to roll out, hope began to dawn that life would return to pre-pandemic normalcy.
The United States inaugurated Joseph Biden as the 46th president at the beginning of the year, while at Indiana University, we made history by naming Pamela Whitten our first female president. At IU Networks, we had our own new beginnings, with partnerships, connections, and customer-focused services illuminating our 2021.
Science made the life-saving vaccines possible. Our experts at the GlobalNOC and International Networks manage many of the powerful research and education networks that make these breakthroughs possible. Within our state, the I-Light and Indiana GigaPOP continue to make connections possible between every college and university in the state, furthering the reach and impact of knowledge. Meanwhile, our Campus Networks team continues to power the learning and business of our major research university, providing the wired and wireless network connectivity our students, faculty, and staff need.
We take our cues, our inspiration, from our many partners. Whether it’s undergraduate students at Indiana University and their myriad devices that need secure connectivity or partners at Puerto Rico’s Arecibo Observatory who need to transfer petabytes of irreplaceable observation data to a safe place, IU Networks shines through.
As we build on the momentum of 2021, we look to our future in 2022 and beyond, and know that IU Networks will continue its forward-thinking and visionary work. Our future’s so bright.
