Learning, a Natural Thing
Neither our aversion to school nor our many distractions
keep us from learning. They persist
and try
just like they do all the time
in our minds.
Learning
feeds upon needs, wants, experiences
to live life,
a journey never ending until we reach the gates.
This condition is a solid fact
written everywhere
voraciously feeding our bodies and minds,
an instinct we cannot ignore
in our day to day lives
eating pictures
which we create conscious or unconscious,
drawings not in space where
there is no proof
but at our fingertips, solid, constructed
eagerly evolving.
This is one of the versions.
A second: a wildflower in an old bean field
where grasses grow and time is slow
spitting out seeds.
The tiny-baby buds live for one day
roll out,
pop open,
“they’re just weeds,”
her only thought to be
a wildflower.
