Rural & Modern
In rural towns the children play
Between the houses hide and stay
Within the fields of corn and beans
Their minds grow too, with special means
Tradition tells them work’s the way
We are a family today
The world is bigger than they say
They all can choose their quilting seams
In rural towns
Communities across the way
Are not so few and far away
Children can learn to read it seems
They learn more than to eat their greens
If we teach them well, they can “slay”
In rural towns
