10 Meals

There are several meals that can be included in a speakers visit.

Thursday Dinner

Standardly a Thursday evening dinner with the host and a few faculty. This is typically held at a nice restaurant in town. Confer with the host on where and if they would like a p-card to pay for the meal. Ask that if they can to have alcohol and food put on separate tickets for ease in the finance office.

Breakfast

Breakfast, which is often the speaker and a faculty member or possibly 2 at most depends on the host. If the speaker stays at the Grant St Inn, breakfast is complimentary, but you will have reach out and ask them to add guests to their breakfast.

PHD Lunch

The PHD lunch is between the speaker and whichever PHD students would like to attend. We typically send the host the menus and ask them to have any students interested to send you their lunch order by EOD Wednesday.

Place the order by Thursday for delivery from Panera. If you put the room number they will deliver and set up the lunch for you.

Here is a scribe guide on placing the order and important things to remember. We are tax exempt. We standardly tip 20%. We also use a reoccurring PO to pay for this.

Receptions

While not typical, having a reception is possible with a more notable speaker. If this occurs, the host should give instruction.

Speakers are NOT entitled to Per diem
