16 Eager for the Light

Eagerly, I looked for humanity in committees.
                  for kindness in religion.
                  for gentleness in legislation.
                  for light in community.


What we need cannot be found
               Except…
                      in places I didn’t expect.

Humanity came from
grocery carts.
Kindness came from
lost pets.
Gentleness came from
timely rain.
             Light was always inside...
