5 Seasons Change
with Julius Mason
Spring restarts the clocks,
the bees pollinate flowers
as the birds return
to fresh leaves on weathered trees
in the cool and calm climate
The warmth heats our soles
crucifying signs of spring
bringing life and death
life to those who need sunlight
death to the dehydrated
The leaves fall in fall,
shades of orange, brown, scattered
across the ground that
begs for life, collecting seeds
for when the growth reappears
Winter brings a chill
to cool the world before spring,
the warmth goes away,
it rains and snows in places,
keeping heat at bay
