2 Layout of Chapters

Each chapter will start with the goals and the learning outcomes. The lesson will start with a text in the form of a dialogue, a monologue or story. Each text will be followed by questions and grammar. There will be short activities spread out in each chapter. The activities will enable you to practice what you would have just learned. Some activities will allow you to emulate the way speakers in each dialogue speak or to apply grammar rules in context. There will be various types of questions based on each text, including ‘yes’ or ‘no’, ‘true’ or ‘not true’ and open-ended ones that test your undetsanding of what you read. There will be a songs, rhymes, chants or children’s games. You will also find culture notes that relate to each chapter.
