My name is Makala (but pronounced like Makayla) and I am from Fort Worth, Texas. My dad spelled my name wrong on birth certificate and has caused problems since; people often pronounce my name with the long “aaa” for all syllables. I am a born and raised army brat. My parents got pregnant with me in high school and moved to Texas when my dad enlisted in the army in September. I was born in December while my dad was in training. We eventually settled in Louisville, KY where the rest of my family is from when I was in grade school.

I am a single mom of 2 girls. In the picture below, the little on in the white dress is Anni and the little on in the blue is Charli. They are 3 and 4 years old and the lights of my life. They are a handful most of the time, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. We love to go to parks, listen to music of all genres (although country and K-Pop is our favorite), and watch Disney movies together while snuggling in my bed. I love to discover new places to go to with my friends and family and broaden my view of the place I have been living for almost 2 decades.
