27 Finding the Bear

Running to the woods,
he finds an escape; he’s safe.
Leaves falling each time he arrives.
Finding a stump to write his thoughts,
feeling alive with the trees.
Lost at the market. Sparks fly in the leaves.
The shift ends another day,
finding the same stump.
when did this stump grow fur?
Drew sits upon this furry stump.
claws reaching underneath.
He feels the rumbling stomach beneath,
he mustn’t be sitting on his cut tree.
The stump traps him in,
furry limbs with claws surrounding him.
