8 A Quiet Retreat

The girl from town went to her spot for peace,
all thoughts were cloudy still she found meaning.
She rests her head but cannot stop screaming
Lying in bed awhile wanting release.
A breath is taken, putting on her fleece,
the curtains open with the sun beaming.
Her time for tea with the water steaming,
sipping from a mug while her thoughts decrease.
She feels at ease with the darkness splitting.
The morning sunshine is bright with yellow light,
each day is a fresh new start for her life.
A dark depression is near she’s slipping.
Clouds hovering, the sunshine is not bright,
knowing her heart is mended with a knife.
