28 Befriending The Bear
Standing still while the wind whistles,
he knows he shouldn’t but he feels safe.
This brown bear feels more like a hug,
growing tall and wrapping him up.
Drew lays still in these furry limbs,
he imagines a safe space.
Upon opening his eyes,
he couldn’t believe
the brown bear had dinner waiting.
Fish had been caught; claw marks present in the scales.
Bear sitting by his side he takes a bite,
each bite taken drew feels something more.
The bear wraps around him once more,
laying still surrounded in fur.
