9 Baseball’s Youth Explosion
Baseball saw players enter the major leagues younger and better than ever before in the early 90’s as Ken Griffey Jr. and Barry Bonds exploded into the sports consciousness with a blend of hitting ability to drive the baseball out of the park and speed to steal bases in a combination that had not been seen in history. Willy Mays whose Hall of Fame career most closely resembled the two players is shown with the two sweet-swinging natural superstars. Both Griffey Jr. and Bonds compiled home run numbers throughout their careers that very few players had ever reached.
