14 “Don’t Take It So Seriously” with Evan

Going into college, one thing that I wish I would’ve known was to not take it so seriously. This is not all-knowing advice and can easily be taken the wrong way. What I mean by this is don’t stress about your grades or your major too much but focus on what you want to focus on. For example, if you have a hobby that you’re really interested in, try to spend some time with this, or develop relationships with new friends.

Speaking of friends, in my experience, the best way to make new friends is simply just to talk to people, especially at the beginning of a new school year for freshman, everyone you talk to is most likely going to be super friendly and receptive.

My favorite spot on campus is the Wells Library East Tower ninth floor, a super nice spot for studying.

My perspective on an undecided major is one of usual practicality. I ended up choosing a technology major because I decided if I wanted to do music, I didn’t want to go to school to be taught creativity, but it all depends on what your personal values and what you value in your future. Also, choosing your major isn’t a huge commitment because you can easily change majors in the future.
