Introduction

Top Hat is IU’s student engagement platform that allows students to use their laptops or mobile devices to respond to polls, questions, and discussions synchronously. While “student response platform” may elicit conceptions of hardware clickers that are limited to multiple-choice items, Top Hat affords a range of question types and can send scores to the Canvas Gradebook. Top Hat is available for all IU courses at no cost to you or your students.
