  • BUAP Outreach: BUAP wide focus on extending university outreach this year. First BUAP-wide Jornada February 12th. Becca has been part of several operational planning meetings and general support. • BUAP’s “La BUAP Cerca de Tí” / The BUAP Near You campaign: Our Clinic Team Lead, Mexico Program Coordinator, and on-the-ground team has been involved in BUAP’s campaign “to contribute to sustainable development of the population, especially in the most vulnerable groups.” This is the BUAP President’s Facebook post.
  • In February 12, 2024 the AMPATH/MAPAS México Clinical Team helped lead the school of medicine team of 38 faculty, pasantes, and students from medicine, nutrition, and physical therapy in a one-day multisectoral health outreach event in a junta auxiliar in the southern part of the city of Puebla with a population of ~7000. The school of medicine team provided medicine consultations for adults (predominance of NCDs) and children, administered a pharmacy with medicines donated by members of the medical school community (which were carefully reviewed and inventoried prior by the AMPATH/MAPAS clinical team), and offered physical therapy and nutrition consults. We collaborated closely with the school of nursing who offered a variety of preventive services including breast and cervical cancer screening, health education in sexual and reproductive health, and a station to holistically assess elderly patients.
