I ran
For the years I spent still
For my inner self,
If not for freedom,
They’re here.
I stayed silent
While the heavy footsteps approached
Fear shrunken
Under the nearest bridge,
my life taken.
No light
No happiness left
Darkness Approached
I am free
Now,
I suppose.
No more running,
Back to being still
Freedom surpassed me
