Make It – Take It Workshops

Make It – Take It Workshops series is designed to educate participants (i.e., family members, educators, providers) about specific evidence-based strategies and learn how to use these strategies with individuals with ASD across settings.  These sessions also allow opportunities for discussion, planning and development of  materials to carry out the strategies and tailor for individual(s) you know or serve.

LifeCourse™ Workshop

Charting the LifeCourse is a framework developed to help individuals and families of all abilities and at any age or stage of life develop a vision for a good life, think about what they need to know and do, identify how to find or develop supports, and discover what it takes to live the lives they want to live. Individuals and families may focus on their current situation and stage of life but may also find it helpful to look ahead to start thinking about life experiences now that will help move them toward an inclusive, productive life in the future.

Even though the framework was originally developed for people with disabilities, it is designed universally to be  used by any family (or group) making a plan for the future.  The workshop is being offered in collaboration with HANDS in Autism® and Local Community Cadres and presented and facilitated by the Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA).

Next Steps™ Workshop

This Next Steps™ Workshop provides foundational information helpful to families (those with newly diagnosed family members or those suspected of having ASD) as well as for service providers and community members.  The workshop is helpful for those wanting to learn  more about the diagnosis, resources and strategies as well as how best to support or facilitate community inclusion and independence for individuals with ASD.
