Academic Support from Your Campus Library
The libraries of Indiana University provide support for IU Indianapolis (IU Indy) students in a variety of ways. Regardless of campus, you have access to the following services through your Indiana University libraries:
- Multiple online databases (think Google, only better) that have articles from both scholarly journals and popular magazines.
- Two great starting places for research are Academic Search Premier (EBSCO) and ProQuest Central. Ask your librarian at your home campus to see whether your library subscribes to one or both.
- A set of online research guides to help you find books, articles, and other materials in specific areas (business, English, etc.)
- An online catalog (IUCAT) of both print and electronic resources is available for your use.
- Access various electronic books as well as U.S. and foreign newspapers. Electronic materials are specific to each campus so be sure to follow the URL link for your campus in IUCAT.
- Request delivery of print books from other IU campuses to the campus closest to you.
- Contact your campus librarian to learn more about what services and assistance they can offer you as an IUI graduate student.
- Many campuses offer live chat assistance as well as both telephone and email help. Use the “Ask a Librarian” link on your library’s home page! Librarians will save you lots of time and are happy to answer your questions via chat, email, and phone (as well as in person).
