Taking Care of the Basics
Welcome from IU Graduate School Indianapolis!
Welcome to IU Indianapolis!
This guide is your go-to resource for starting your IU Indianapolis (IU Indy) journey. Let’s cover some essentials:
The University ID Number
Your University ID Number becomes available about a week after you apply, you will be able to look up your University ID number. Once your admission is finalized, you’ll use it to create your IU Indy computing account. Remember, this account is distinct from any guest account you might have created earlier
Crimson Card – Your student ID
As a new member of the IU Indy family, you’re entitled to a CrimsonCard – your official student ID. This card is your key to campus life, granting you access to buildings, library services, and printing. You can also use it for purchases on and off campus, with some local restaurants offering discounts. To get your CrimsonCard, visit the office on the 2nd floor of the Campus Center (Room 217) with a photo ID and your class schedule.
One thing to note is that your IU University ID number is different from the number listed on your Crimson Card. To find your student ID number, look at your acceptance letter or search for it on Student Self-Service University ID Lookup.
Taking care of business with One.IU and IUanyWare
Two tools will be invaluable during your time at IU Indy. One.IU is your portal for handling university-related tasks and accessing resources. IUanyWare allows you to stream IU-licensed apps and software from anywhere, on any device, without installation or VPNs.
Official Student Email
Lastly, your IU Indy student email account is crucial for official communication. Use it to contact your advisers, staff, and school officials. Campus offices typically don’t respond to non-IU email addresses, so make sure to use your official account for all university-related correspondence.
