You are now joining our IU Indianapolis (IU Indy) family and as a part of the family, you’re now part of a supportive network dedicated to your academic and personal success. IU Indy offers a wide array of resources to ensure you thrive during your graduate journey.
Student Affairs
IU Indy Student Health provides care at two convenient campus locations, while Counseling Psychological Services (CAPS) offers mental health support. The Behavioral Consultation Team works to maintain campus safety, and Health and Wellness Promotion helps you find balance in your academic life. If you need guidance on policies or procedures, the Student Advocate is there to help.
For those facing financial challenges, Paw’s Pantry and Hire Attire provide food and clothing assistance. The campus also hosts several financial institutions and The Indy Chamber has compiled a list of local banks, many of which have multiple locations. The IU Indianapolis Bookstore is for your textbook needs.
IU Indy makes health insurance plans available to those who meet eligibility requirements as a Graduate Appointee, a Fellowship Recipient, or in the schools of Medicine or Dentistry.

Student Organizations
There are several student organizations at IU Indy specifically for graduate students including the Underrepresented Professional and Graduate Student Organization (UPnGO) which embraces and empowers underrepresented students to become the top scholars, researchers, and professionals in the world to create an open community of diversity and equity through academic support, collaboration, events, and networks.
Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG)
The IU Indy GPSG is the official voice of 8,000+ graduate and professional students on the IU Indy campus. It promotes active dialog between the community and school administration and works regularly with faculty and staff to determine future directions for the university.
R.O.A.R – Registry of Options and Resources
The R.O.A.R. website is a “one-stop shop” of information with campus and local community resources within a 5-mile radius of IU Indy.
Child Care
As a family-friendly campus, IU Indy supports graduate students who are also parents by providing high-quality childcare resources and space for nursing mothers.
On-Campus Centers and Offices
Multicultural Center
The Multicultural Center supports students, faculty, and the community by promoting the value of diversity, broadening multicultural awareness and sensitivity, advancing cultural competence, and encouraging cross-cultural collaborative relationships through education, advocacy, and research.
LGBTQ+ Center
IU Indy’s LGBTQ+ Center is open to everyone. It serves as a lighthouse for LGBTQ+ resources and as a landing ground to find community on campus. We are dedicated to serving the IU Indy LGBTQ+ community through community building, education, and advocacy.
Office for Veterans and Military Personnel (OVMP)
The Office for Veterans and Military Personnel (OVMP) is a centralized office designed to provide comprehensive resources to veterans and Veterans Affairs benefit recipients to aid in their overall success as IU Indy students.
Office of Women
The IU Indy Office for Women works to build an environment on campus that is inclusive of all and seeks to create a climate where women can succeed.
