Taking Care of the Basics
Housing and Campus Life
Housing
Whether it is an on-campus apartment, a house nearby, or a condominium downtown, here are some options for housing that may fit your needs.
Getting Around Campus
Campus Map and Parking
Although most students attend all their classes within a two-block radius, IU Indianapolis (IU Indy) is still a big campus. Check out IU Indy’s official interactive online campus map which includes parking information. To learn more about parking passes and citations, go to Parking Services.
Campus Shuttles
IU Indy Parking & Transportation Services provides a complimentary shuttle service connecting many areas on the IU Indy campus and the North Campus parking lots along Indiana Avenue. With 6 shuttle lines and more than 20 stops, getting to and from your office or classroom is quick and easy, and it is free to anyone in the university community! Information on each route can be found on the IU Indy JagLINE Shuttle website.
Staying Active
IU Indy’s Campus Recreation offers intramural sports, fitness, and recreational activities to promote healthy lifestyles for students, faculty, and staff.
IU Indy partners with the National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS) to support its commitment to healthy campus living.
All IU Indy students must pay a $50 per semester campus rec membership fee to access facilities like the Jaguar Campus Rec Center, IU Natatorium, and NIFS. However, on-campus residents don’t pay this fee – it’s included in their housing. They just complete an online waiver to activate their membership.
