Tools Discussed in this Guide

This guide primarily describes tools in wide use at IU. Future updates may include best practices that apply specifically to additional tools. For a comprehensive list of tools available at IU, see the IU Technology Tool Finder.

Before beginning with this guide, it’s recommended that you be generally aware of the following tools:

Canvas
An online course platform with many features and integrated tools.
Kaltura
A video management platform that allows you to record, edit, share, and embed videos in Canvas.
Microsoft Word
Document creation software that can produce accessible documents.
Adobe PDF
A software that can produce accessible PDFs from accessible documents created in Word. PDFs are uneditable documents that support text and images.
Quick Check
A low-stakes quizzing tool that provides feedback directly in Canvas.

If you are building or instructing a course in edX or Expand, please reach out to your project contact for access to training resources.
