3 What is HTML?
HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language. Essentially, HTML is a coding language that can be used to structure a webpage. Although there are other markup languages, HTML is the standard.
At a basic level, HTML can be used to:
- Create the structure of a webpage
- Create headers and body paragraphs
- Create lists
- Create tables
- Create links
Advanced coders may read this and remark that HTML can do much more, and that’s true. While knowing basic HTML can be helpful for digital writers, you don’t need to be an expert. The basics are often more than enough to help you in your job.
