12 Learning analytics moments: instructions

Finding the right moment to use learning analytics in the classroom can be difficult, or even daunting if you don’t know where to start or how to interpret them. This activity will introduce you to some places where you can find learning analytics and give you practical ways to use them to help students learn.

Review, amend, apply

We’ll be using a technique called review, amend, apply to think through how we might use learning analytics in the classroom. In the first step, review, we’ll take a look at some learning analytics dashboards and consider the information available in them. Next we’ll discuss how we might amend the information we reviewed with student feedback to ensure that we’re drawing the correct conclusions, and finally we’ll brainstorm solutions we can apply to the challenges we’ve discovered.

First, let’s take a look at some analytics dashboards (your facilitator will need to do this part!).
