5 Pressbooks: importing content

While you can always build something new from scratch, importing and editing already-existing content can be an easier way to learn how to use Pressbooks. In Pressbooks, the following content-types can be imported:

  • EPUB (.epub)
  • Microsoft Word (.docx)
  • Open Office (.odt)
  • Pressbooks/WordPress XML (.wxr or .xml)
  • Web page or Pressbooks webbook (.html or URL)

Pressbooks texts can also be cloned if the author has chosen to allow it. Cloning a text creates a copy that you are able to edit.
