6 Rename your course site
What’s in a name?

You can change the course name for both manually-created and registrar-provisioned Canvas courses (e.g., FA20: INTRODUCTION TO BIOMECHANICS: 1123). This is especially helpful for long course names or to “group” the same course over different semesters in the All Courses list. Keep in mind that students see the name change as well.
Get Started
- Select Settings [a] from the left navigation then Course Details [b].
- Select the “Name” text box [c] and enter a new name.
- Save your changes by selecting Update Course Details at the bottom of the page.
