Mary: What is your name and age?

Dawson: Dawson, 19

M: Tell me about yourself, some background info.

D: Gay, brother and a sister, Randolph Southern, Grew up in Lynn

M: When did you really identify with the LGBTQ+ community? Was it hard?

D: Realized in 7th grade, didn’t come to terms until 8th-freshman year. Yes.

M: Are you involved in any LGBTQ+ events, clubs, etc.?

D: Part of Alliance on [IU East] campus.

M: How did it go in high school?

D:  Felt lonely and empty, alone.

M: How is it going at IU East?

D: Feels more accepted and comfortable.
