7 American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is the world’s largest organization offering credentials in medical imaging.  Earning ARRT certification and registration is challenging, yet very achievable.  The ARRT certifies and registers technologists in a range of disciplines by overseeing and administering education, ethics, and examination requirements.  In order to meet the education requirement for the primary pathway, a candidate must have earned an associate’s degree or higher and completed an ARRT-approved educational program in the same discipline as the credential the candidate is pursuing.

Demonstrating good moral character is mandatory to ethics review on the pre-application prior to completing an educational program.  Lastly, candidates must pass a national registry exam before earning ARRT credentials.  For a career in radiography the credential earned will be RT(R), meaning registered technologist in radiography.

The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is located at 1255 Northland Drive, St. Paul, MN 55120.  They can be contacted at 651-687-0048 or by visiting www.ARRT.org.
