48 Increases in Clinic Grades

Students who earn perfect attendance status in any given semester will automatically have his/her clinical course grade increased by 1/3 of a letter grade.  This grade increase can be earned in each clinical course throughout the program.  A perfect attendance pin will be awarded for each semester it was achieved.

To encourage professional traits and foster an understanding and appreciation of Professional Continuing Education, the faculty has added clinical grade incentives for students who achieve outstanding clinical recognition and/or participate in professional development activities. Through these activities, students may raise their clinical grade by 1/3 of a letter grade once per clinical course.  Professional development credit may not be used to raise the clinical grade if a student fails the course.  Professional Development points must be earned by the last day of clinic in any semester to be applied to that semester’s grade.  Points earned from professional development are cumulative and can be carried over from course to course.

If the student has perfect attendance, the grade increase will automatically be applied to their clinical grade.  Students may request that PD points be applied to a clinical course if they notify the clinical instructor via email before the last day of clinic.  PD points that a student wants to use must already be entered in the database and approved.

  • All students: Grade increases will not be given if the clinical grade has been reduced for any reason.
  • Clinical probation:  Any student on clinical probation will be ineligible for a grade increase.
