24 Communication Policy

Each student has an IU network ID and e-mail address on the Indiana University computer network.  Students must have an active IU email account for the duration of the program.

Communication with program faculty and staff should be by IU email only.  Text messaging is not an appropriate form of official communication. In emergencies, a phone message may be left but must be followed up with an email to the appropriate person. Students are to use professional titles when addressing clinical instructors and faculty of the program (ie: Dr., Mr., Mrs., Ms., and/or Professor).

Students must get in the habit of checking their IU email at least twice a day.  It is the student’s responsibility to forward email from their IU account to another email address if they choose to do so.  Failure to regularly check emails may cause a student to miss deadlines or impact their academic progress.

Students should use the Services and Support section of the Information Technology website at http://uits.iu.edu/  to activate, modify or find additional information regarding network ID’s.
