Welcome to Indiana University’s PHSL-P 225 (Human physiology). My name is Dr. Jim Davis and with the help of the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning, and the help of several others, I have created an open educational resource for this class. The goal of this textbook is to focus on the concepts we will be covering in class. Consequently, this textbook doesn’t go into as much detail as other textbooks. However, if you have questions that the textbook is unable to answer, please let me know and I will do my best to direct you to a source that can answer your question.

Please note that this textbook is something I will be frequently making modifications to. At the start of the 2024 Fall semester there are sections on cell biology, nervous system, special senses, muscular system, and the cardiovascular system. However, the goal is that by the end of the semester there will be sections covering the respiratory, urinary, and reproductive systems.

Each section will contain 1-2 videos where I explain the concepts that are important to class.
